Broadbeach:
Broadbeach is a suburb near the northern end of the Gold Coast. It wasn't until the construction of Lennon's Broadbeach Hotel (now the site of the Oasis Hotel and Shopping Centre) in 1955 that development in the area began to increase. There are some beautiful parks along the foreshore of this long stretch of beach. These parks are well equipped with sheltered picnic areas, ample BBQs and great playgrounds for the kids. The surfing is consistent at Broadbeach, albeit small at times.
